[1;36;40mI'll tell you what I heard about the reason Klingons in TOS took
the Mongol
[1;36;40mlook. This was the 'explanation' of why they look different in the
movies and [1;36;40m
[1;36;40min TNG, DSN, etc. In TOS, it is said that the Klingons thought
that humans
[1;36;40mwere such a weak race that the Klingon's believed that their own
apearance
[1;36;40mwould kill a human from fright, so the Klingons altered their
appearance so as
[1;36;40mnot to kill any humans unless there was direct combat. What's the
point of
[1;36;40mwinning a fight if there is no fighting involved was the
ilosophy.
[1;36;40mI heard this 'word of mouth' so I don't know if it's really true or
not. The
[1;36;40m'real life reason' was makup costs and techniques and wanting a
meaner look
[1;36;40ms for Klingons when the movies came out. (Wrath of Kahn). So, I
guess the
[1;36;40mabove explanation could be true, I just wish I saw it in writing or
in an
[1;36;40mepisode.
