Richard we have the exact same problem in Maryland. Btw, the school's
accreditation in Maryland is also up this year. We can get people like Lou
Tutt, the superintendent and some of the staff to attend parties for the
braille readers are leaders participants at the national Center like the one
held last week but the problem you have in Maryland is that you have a
private board not subject to Maryland's open meetings law because they are a
private organization which receives a sizeable state appropriation. This
past year, they chose not to attend our state convention but another problem
is that parents of students at the school have had problems dealing with
safety matters, the board has chosen to conveniently ignore these concerns
which has sparked our interest as an afilliate. So we sponsored legislation
which we'll probably have to sponsor again next year. 73- KK3F
