Yes, and sadly, I remember hearing of, and living in a time in
my country when one working parent could make enough to buy a home,
a new car every three years, and college for the kid. Leaving the
other parent (back when two parents were the rule) in charge of the
house and making sure the kid didn't need beatings, and certainly
not beatings outside the home. And the kid probably learned morals
enough to not lie to a superior officer, and to not disobey direct
orders.
But that has become the same as ancient history, and surely not
on the topic of aviation. We should cease before fire commences.
