You seem to be forgetting the: "PC means 'IBM Clone'" debate when Atari
announced they were "getting out of the PC business".

  Loyalists continued to argue that Falcon's were still "being sold as
fast as they could make them."
  Today we now know that less than 16,000 Falcon's were sold worldwide..
which either means they were making them V E R Y  S L O W L Y, or they
were  wrong.
