Richard,

I just used FIND/? from a XP CMD prompt and it mentions that it gives
the Line Numbers only if you use a /N option with the FIND command.

It has been ages since I have used FIND but my memory didn't remember
seeing Line Numbers with the output on the screen.

Try just using FIND "string" FILENAME and see if that works for you.
