Putting a new system together for a family member (don't ask what he's
going to be running on it:-(

Had hopes of salvaging the guts from an older P2 machine whose hard drive
had given up the ghost. Turned out that in addition, the mobo, cpu, PS,
or some combination of these had also died.

So - putting together a new machine with AMD and an ASUS board. Nasty
surprise when the agp card from the old machine wouldn't fit the slot in
the new board. MOBO manual says that I must use a 1.5v card.

Question: How do I determine (before buying) that a card is 1.5 v?
Trying to do this on a budget, so may run into some discontinued models.

Right now about all we salvaged from the old machine was the FDD and a
couple of cables (along with the kbd and rodent). The CD worked for a
while, but then refused to eject (it wasn't the switch; software eject
didn't work either:-( Modem was 14.4 and went into the scrap; sound card
probably would have worked but the new mobo has onboard sound as well as
NIC.
