I'm the assistant manager of our local hotel which is
situated in a somewhat remote area in NSW.

Times have been tough, the bank has cut our overdraft by ten
thousand, the liquor suppliers are not as flexible on
payment as they have been, takings are down and duties are
up.

We've decided not to pay our AHA membership (we can't afford
it) and I cannot pay myself or the manager. There's only one
darts team playing tonight so I've no high hopes that
tomorrow will bring a barrel full of money.

Next week I'm supposed to pay group tax, a liquor license
fee instalment and the breweries (not much) and I haven't
got enough to pay all. (Not forgetting the manager and
myself). Bout eight thousand. I hope after the weekend to
have about six. Guess I'll have to crawl to the ATO and have
group tax deferred for a week or two.

Is anyone in the industry doing it as tough?
