Lynn, I'm familiar with the sandhill/whooper problems. Used to live
close to the Bosque del Apache preserve in NM. It's a really wonderful
place- they grow fields of corn for the geese and cranes to feast on.
Just got e-mail from an old friend who said that there are only two
whoopers left this year. Sad. They are truly magnificent birds.
