RS> Fraid you did, it was YOU pushing PQWK in the first place. PE> You don't "push" a product by calling it PE> the biggest heap of shit you've ever seen. RS> Pity that was AFTER pushing it. PE> I don't recall pushing it, I only recall calling it a heap of shit. PE> I certainly push becoming a point, maybe you got confused with that. Nope, its just a question of what you call pushing. You actually rang me up and essentially pushed PQWK after I made clear that I didnt want to use point software with a rather fucked user interface. PE> If you choose to use stupid software, that's your problem. RS> So stop trying to tell me what I should run. I am RS> quite capable of working that out for myself thanks. PE> Just don't try blaming your out-of-spec messages on PQWK, or rather me. Soorree, you dont get to proclaim that QWKs cant have kludge lines in them. I am quite happy to try to ensure that they dont end up in an outgoing PKT and have always been quite happy ensure that. PE> Yeah, like I said, that bit was partly my fault. For all I PE> knew, you were being careful about not sending me origin lines. Yeah, I certainly was careful to ensure that, after from memory Frank had some problem with those appearing. I wasnt even planning to never touch 2.60, just wanted it to be used rather more in case there were some subtle warts introduced. There is another way, basically ALWAYS make the PKT from the REP with both the version of PKT2QWK that I have been using AND the new one too, and have an automated comparison of the produced pair of PKTs. Its more tricky than it looks tho with some changes to PKT2QWK which make the automated comparison difficult. RS> BBSs dont strip all kludge likes PARTICULARLY the MSGID and REPLYID. PE> They do before sending you a QWK packet. RS> Fraid they dont. PE> Fraid Maximus does for starters. You may have noticed that there are more BBS systems around that Maximus. The Maximus QWK door has actually got quite a bit of stuff it does like no other. The area numbers in the QWK bear no relationship to the ones in the message base for example. That appears to be his kludge to handle the fact that Maximus allows non numeric areas and QWK does not. In fact all in all the Maximus standard QWK door is notorious for being about the most fucked QWK door around, you cant even reset the pointers at all, or even add and drop from the REP either. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
