I consider "current" (in this context) to be no more than about 5 years old.
Of course, 'state of the art' varies a lot with individual manufacturers and
even models; high-tech stuff shows up first on luxury models, then migrates
to the lower-end.

The Olds is a '93. And whether or not you can personally afford the newer
stuff has nothing at all to do with whether it's any good or not.
