CF> I'm writing a os/2 text mode full screen app. I'm trying to get CF> the .EXE file to write to itself. When I try this I get a CF> "Permission denied" error. The same routine works great in dos. CF> Any help would be appreciated. I'm not sure why you're getting the "Permission Denied" error. It was rumored that OS/2 doesn't allow a running .EXE to be written to, but this is apparently not the case, according to what I've read. In any event, you probably don't want to do that though, because even if the program were able to do it, in a low memory situation OS/2 loads parts of the .EXE that it needs, and then discards them, which I think would have a bearing on whether your writes to the .EXE file would actually get saved to disk. ___ X KWQ/2 1.2a X Windows...It's Hamburger Helper for DOS. --- Maximus/2 2.01wb* Origin: OS/2 Shareware BBS, Fairfax, VA: 703-385-4325 (1:109/347) SEEN-BY: 12/2442 54/54 620/243 624/50 632/348 640/820 690/660 711/409 410 413 SEEN-BY: 711/430 807 808 809 934 712/353 623 713/888 800/1 @PATH: 109/347 2 1 3615/50 229/2 12/2442 711/409 54/54 711/808 809 934 |
