PE> Rod isn't trying to get a V32terbo connection, he's trying to get a V32bis

BG> Given that even the later Supras work just fine, the assumption has to be
BG> that the code in Rod's old V.32bis model is in some way deficient.
Given that he can connect to my modem just fine, the assumption has
to be that the code in the USR is in some way deficient.
Both statements are in fact correct, but the evidence for the first
is not in the later model supras, which are connecting at V.34, but
in the fact that other V32bis modems can connect to the USR.
PE> Neither company is worth the paper it prints the warranty on.
As above.
PE> You may have noticed that Microsoft shares also have performed
PE> superbly in the past. Had very little to do with whether Windows
PE> 3.1 was better than OS/2. Had to do with how well the company
PE> could gouge the market.
BG> There's a hell of a lot more to it than that, and you know it. I think
I do?
BG> you'll find that the public's and the shareholders' confidence goes a long
BG> way to determining a company's on-paper value, and that is generally the
BG> result of the perception of the quality of that company's products, and
BG> their sales figures (and profits). Very little to do with gouging at all.
Where do you think the large profits come from, Bill? BFN. Paul.
