Hi Tom! :-) TW> I just did the "Run Spot Run" install of Mandrake 9.2 on a HD last TW> night. Still not for me apparently. OF course first I should say I TW> rarely look at Docs. Ah, no wonder Linux is a tough sell for you, then. Well, distributions are getting to a point where everything get setup during installation - they're just not quite there yet. When you compare the installation of Mandrake 9.2 with what installers in 1998 looked like, you'd see that they have already improved a lot in that timeframe. Installers back then did setup almost NOTHING. [...] TW> the modem set up. Finaly found where I had to go to Root and do it. TW> Installed fine and the Test Dial in to my ISP worked great. So far so good. ;) TW> Rebotted and guess what. I could find NO place to make it dial in TW> when I TW> called up the Browser. Even the buttons to call up the Mandrake Web TW> sites wouldn't do it. There should be a tool for that, but since I don't use desktop environments on Linux, I have no idea what it is called. I dimly remember something called kppp, maybe that can be found somewhere in KDE's menu (assuming Mandrake uses KDE as the graphical environment).
