X2 was a bit aggressive on the uptake... in most cases, after the initial 
connect, the modems, dropped down a notch or two in speed...
V90 seems to be not quite as aggressive and thus maybe more "true to life"...
the above is IMHO and based in part to reading other's reports and my own 
experiances...
