| subject: | Re: Migrate OE v5 to v6 across machines? |
From: "Gary Britt"
Fire up OE and do a file import on the file store in the share directory.
Move the OE DBX directories to the shared directory if it isn't directly
shared. In looking quickly at file import on OE 6 I don't see an option
for OE 5 import. Just OE 4 and OE 6. So either OE 5 file format is the
same as 6 or you will have to do one of several alternative workarounds.
Workarounds would be on the OE 5 machine fire up outlook (not express) and
import the OE files into outlook. Then on the new machine import the
outlook files into OE 6. Another would be to upgrade the OE 5 machine to
OE 6, and it will convert the OE 5 dbx files to OE 6. You can then file
import these messages to the new machine with OE 6 on the new machine.
Cheers,
Gary
