   I've used several in the past, but Ethereal is very impressive.  The
user interface is a bit clunky in spots because it's cross platform and it
requires you to learn its syntax, but it is very capable.   I used the MS
net monitor a bit to diagnose some problems - it is very handy but haven't
used it extensively.
