We got that "has to learn responsibility" business about my son's midday dose 
of Ritalin.  Finally the teachers who had him after the dose was due took 
matters into their own hands and took turns marching him down to get his 
medication.
We had the same problem with the homework, by the way, except that our son 
started forging "no homework" in his book.
