> I second that... we do miss you...
JK> I'll try to stick around.. life as you know is nutso.. Next week I
JK> have to take my two dogs (eh.. true mutts) to the vet. Indy, the boy,
JK> has what looks like a big sebaceous cyst on his chest, and Sophie has
JK> some kind of weird rash on her tummy (like bad reaction to something
JK> outside or to her flea med,etc.).. I'm hoping for their sake they can
JK> be treated easily.. they are not young anymore..(I think 10yrs. old
JK> now?)
Oh, I know how nutso life can get... I remember Indy and Sophie... hope
they are easily treated... :)
>> off. She is over 99 now IIRC, and keeps us busy.
> That can keep you busy, for sure... and I'm sure that you are also
> enjoying having her with you, she sounds like one neat lady... :)
JK> She is... and thankfully we have lots of help for her... Aides come in
JK> 3x a week for her alone (showers, cleaning her room, doing her
JK> laundry), when we run to Dr's offices for her or us we have my son keep
JK> an eye on things while we're gone. My daughter has moved to Philly
JK> (Oracle) so it's great that he's living here.
Yup, good that you have your son there with you... :) And also very
good that her aides take care of the bulk of the extra work she might
have been for you... :)
>> ok? She said, Oh yes, _certainly_ and then said, 'you should see all
>> the amazing things that Janis cooks here!' I smiled at that, it was
>> funny to see her bragging to them about my cooking :)
> And nice that she is obviously appreciative of your cooking...
JK> Oh yeah, one thing this lady appreciates is good food LOL I'm glad she
JK> does really :) She and I are planning the apple/pumpkin pies right now
JK> that I'll make this fall :)
Will she at least keep you company in the kitchen while you make
them...? Are you planning fancy versions...?
> I'm sure that living with you and having good meals cooked for her and
> good company to eat them with has done a lot for keeping her in good
> health... failure to thrive is such a problem usually for the very
> elderly...
JK> One of the meals-on-wheels coordinators always says how wonderful
JK> things are for her here. That's good I think. Meals-on-wheels sends a
JK> lady to make sure the food we get for Aunt Gert is ok with her :)
Do they supply some backup meals for her...? or just make sure you are
feeding her well....
>> I always have greek yogurt here as well.. I make it in my Instant Pot,
>> it is so good and so easy.. :) I'll post more about that here in
>> another message.
> Sounds like you need to get back to posting... ;)
JK> I'm getting there Lol
Yup... good thing... and I did see your post on making the yogurt... :)
