RC> Not at all - it shows how far the integrity of the Senate
RC> minority has fallen - that minority which constitutes the
RC> difference between the Republican majority and the 2/3's
RC> majority necessary for Impeachment.
RP> I disagree. A considerable number of that Republican
RP> majority, certainly the leadership, does not want to see
RP> Clinton impeached for political reasons.
Why should they? And what gives them the authority to do
so? Do you really condsider the phrase "high crimes and
misdemeanors" to include political differences?
I don't.
RP> They couldn't care less about justice for the corruption
RP> and criminality - they just want to play those things in
RP> campaigns. They are as bereft of morality and principle as
RP> the DemonRats are, and just as culpable.
Again, "political reasons" do not necessarily include
corruption and criminality.
RP> I don't leave the DemonRats out either. They once had
RP> people of principle and morality too, whose concern was the
RP> nation rather than themselves or their party, who wouldn't
RP> have hesitated to roundly condemn the wrongdoing we've seen
RP> from this White House, regardless the occupant, and
RP> would've been out front to impeach such criminals.
RP> Sorry, Robert, but there is no excuse for Congress not
RP> having impeached Clinton already. Furthermore, we have no
RP> business granting either party a pass for their having
RP> refused to act.
Again, I disagree. Either repeal the Independent Counsel's
Act or wait for his results. Proceeding to impeachment
prior to completion to the independent counsel's simply
results in charges of pure political manipulation.
... Myths: Bigfoot, the Tooth Fairy and Bill Clinton's integrity.
