I didn't really mean "only".  But the poster was having a
very difficult time believing everybody that told him he
needed a null modem cable for what he was doing.  He
continued to ask for confirmation each time someone told
him he needed a null modem cable.  He had already purchased
a standard serial cable and was obviously looking for
anyone that would tell him it would work (it wouldn't). It
was frustrating. You can only say it so many ways. You're
right, the control lines are also crossed.
