Yeah, that's unfortunate, eh? You're basically going to have to
live with that, as the amount of money I am paying for a dedicated
phone line ($160 or something per year) makes me want to be able to
receive faxes for that price too. $160 is more than it would save
callers in that 1 second. BTW, I don't suppose you noticed when I
was running the Netcomm? The same day I put in the Viper, I would
have answered your call with adaptive answer on the Netcomm. I
wonder if it is strictly necessary to pause after answering the
phone, even with adaptive answer? I would have thought it could
have issued the modem tones, and if there's a fax on the other
end, it could have interrupted the modem tones? BFN. Paul.
