BG> Why? If you can find any message from me which says that the
BG> Viper connected at 28800/NONE, so be it, but I certainly have
BG> no recollection of that ever happening. I said that the Viper
BG> is no better insofar as I still occasionally connect with it
BG> at 26400, same as the M34F, but at least ALWAYS with EC.

PE> I will grant you that this is a toned-down message,
PE> but quite frankly, there are some things you should
PE> think about when making your absolute statements:

BG> Has it not yet occurred to you that my purported "absolute"
BG> statements are in fact simple observations from my OWN POV,

Soorree, you proclaim on the performance of particular modems
and end up looking very damned silly indeed like you did with
the Sportster rom change when you proclaim based on sweet fuck
all in the way of applying your mind to what YOU have seen Bill.

BG> and are no less relevant than yours, under similar circumstances?

Soorree, HE doesnt make wild claims about
particular modems based on what HE has seen.

Yes, your observations are just as relevant as his. The problem
is the wild claims YOU make when what YOU have seen doesnt get
withing a fucking bulls roar of substantiating your claim Bill.

And so you keep ending up face down in the mud very spectacularly
indeed like you did when you proclaimed that replacing the Spirit with
ANYTHING was absolutely guaranteed to fix the /NONE connects. Turns out
that it was the Sportster rom that needed to be changed instead.

Ditto for your proclamations on what you had seen when testing modems at
CHH. Yes, they were your personal observations. The problem is tho that you
didnt put your brain into gear and you ended up face down in the mud very
spectacularly indeed again when you found that the story was a tad more
complicated than you claimed, particularly the effect of your poor home
line. Which ALSO got fixed by the rom change, showing very clearly indeed
that the USR code you proclaimed was absolutely immaculate, was in fact not.

And it STILL isnt if the bulldog still gets /NONEs when he should be getting
a lower speed /EC connect instead. USR clearly knows how to fix that.

BG> After all, YOU'RE the one continually changing and trying new
BG> modems at your end, yet when we impart our observations to you, we're
BG> "talking out of our arses". Fuck me, we're only trying to help you.

He is saying that the INFORMATION thats provided on the type of connect
achieved etc is vital. But that the INTERPRETATION you put on the evidence,
particularly when you make wild claims about particular modems which you
DO NOT have the evidence to substantiate, are a problem. He's right.

BG> Despite your own peurile thoughts on the matter, I happen to be
BG> extremely impressed with the way in which my Courier performs,
BG> so from now on, you can solve your own modem problems, and go
BG> fuck yourself (and not necessarily in that order), understood? :)

Do you want this dummy back ? |-)
