OFFICIAL verification can't be done via an echo
because there is no one from the magazine here at all.
You can get the official word at 1-800-228-9626.
I see nothing in their recording nor in my message
indicating internal restructuring. What I see being
restructured is the magazine into newsletters. There
will be different newsletters for 5.1 and 6.x for DOS,
and I think they are doing the same for Windoze. Until
the newsletter is received, I can't tell if I am going
to think it is a satisfactory replacement for the
magazine or not. I do know that I was becoming
disenchanted with the magazine trying to explain
everything in 5.1/6.0/6.1 terms. So this may help.
The changes are described in the Nov, Dec 1996 &
Jan, Feb 1997 issue editorials. They seem to have no
intention of folding, so I see no contract breach.
Whether or not the newsletter will be a satisfactory
substitute for the magazine will be a matter of
personal choice.
