* Jon Guthrie got everyone's attention by mumbling this to Uche Ogbuji:
> But seriously, I'm rather doubtful about Mr. Petzold's new book. When
> he wrote the last book, he was in the thick of OS/2 development, as
> exhibited by his many PM programming columns in PC Magazine.
JG> The new volume (at about 500 pages---yes, I've actually held a copy in
JG> my hands, but I didn't buy it) is about 1/3 the size of the previous
JG> volume. That scares me a little. What did he leave out?
Probably everything worthwhile, given his current orgasmic state over Windows
NT. :-( I wouldn't be surprised if it was merely a half-assed, warmed-over
rehash of his older book, released simply to cash in on OS/2 users' thirst
for just about anything OS/2-related. Someone else here relayed that he once
said, "I don't do SOM"; that doesn't exactly give me Warm Fuzzies
about this
new edition, considering that SOM is at the heart of OS/2 2.x.
