I think you're misinterpreting the statement that V.32terbo as implemented by 
USR was compatible with all other V.32terbo modems (which it was).  I believe 
you consider that "playing down".
You're predisposed to trashing anything that's USR, and it leads you to make 
the _damndest_ statements.
