True but...The only bullet resistent vest I have seen
only offer plates for the chest/heart area.  Therefore
it offers very little protection from edged or point
weapons.  Also a vest with a trauma plate it a pain to
wear and is next to, if not, impossible to wear
concealed.
Then you have the fact that you can be killed even if
the plate stops the bullet.  The energy of the round is
transferred and a hard blow to the chest can stop the
heart.  AFAIK, this has never happened but it IS a
possibility.
