Hi Kit,
Just jumping in here with a few of my thoughts, this is not meant as a
flame of you or John.

So, you are saying that by Disney's copyright notice that the dozen or
so Disney videos I have bought over the last few years and given to my
nephews as gifts are illegal? By your interpretation, I purchased
them, I do not have them, they were given to my nephews for their
personal use, not mine, thus breaking the distribution agreement. So,
to right a wrong, I should go over there and take away the Disney
videos, since the right to transfer ownership of the tape falls under
'other rights' and only Disney has that right. Should I write to
Disney and ask permission to give my nephews Disney videos as gifts in
the future? To insure that neither myself or my nephews don't break
any laws, will I have to have the 3 year old purchase the video
himself? Remember I don't have to profit from the distribution to be
found guilty of copyright infringement.
