Yeah, he's a genius.  He said W-L record is the only way to judge pitchers

More genius.  Are you agreeing with him that Bonilla wouldn't have gotten 
that hit if he'd have gotten a hit earlier?  Isn't the best way to break out 
of a slump to get a hit?  Check that.  The ONLY way to break out of a slump 
is to get a hit.  Are you and Mr. Genius suggesting the Yankees pitchers 
should have just lobbed the ball up there in a less crucial situation, to 
make sure he got a hit, so he wouldn't be so "due" later?
