Isn't there a 68 pins internal connection on the Tekram? You didn't 
attach the IBM DNES to a 50 pins bus, did you?

Depends on how the Tekram would react. Appropriate termination will be 
mandatoty.

If you would be lucky, you could replace the IBM by the Quantum AND 
cable with termination in one go.

Yes, I do recommend a rounded cable, for the are more handy and come 
with appropriate termination for LVD-disks. Look for a 68 pins cable 
with two busses AND a termination feature at the end (PullTab for 
instance). Do not terminate the Quantum disk with anything else.
