The trick is to install the fixpack *before* you have problems
(preventative maintenance), not *while* you're having problems.  :-)

Thankfully the last time I had OS/2 *really* screw-up (*big* time, with
file system corruption and everything..) was OS/2 2.0 - nothing major since
then.
