Actually, if the DOS boot doesn't work, and if you have W2K, XP Pro, or
W2K3 installation media you could install one of them (in a different
directory from the hosed XPH installation) and then copy the data to
another machine or external storage.
You should be able to use one of the 120 day evaluation copies of any of
those products to do it.
Since you don't have a manufacturer's restore disk or OEM copy of XPH, you
won't be able to rebuild the machine, but you can at least get to the data.
