It sounds like an interesting mix, but I haven't had much trouble with the 
chain rusting (except when I get too lazy to wipe off the water when the snow 
melts).  The trouble seems more to be a viscousity (sp?) problem-- that is, 
the oil becomes too solid at the lower temps.  
I "solved" the problem this past week by driving to work when the wind chill 
dropped below -30 to -40 degrees F.  The weather forecast claims that the 
temperatures will get warm enough that I won't be able to use the wind chill
index as an excuse this coming week, however.
