Odd then how we gave guns to villagers so as to defend themselves against
the MCP. Heck your buddies in the South Vietnamese law & order
community were such good role models in how to fight jungle based communist
guerilla movements.......

Hang on...when we left Malaya we left a functioning democracy which is
still in operation today.... when the US left South Vietnam....

Yup 1977 is a black mark but by 1977 the RAF was over. What was
reprehensible about that it is that it was (IMHO) so "Old school"
German i.e. more of an "administrative cleanup of loose ends" of
the sort people had thought had gone in 1945. I mean pistol to the back of
the head is sooooo pre '45.

The enemy? You don't fight terrorists as if they have a standing army.
Doing so tends to just make for more terrorists & eventual defeat for
you. Their aim is not to hold terriory but minds.
