Well you're wrong then, Grant. FCC compliance for class B computing
devices (modems) has absolutely NOTHING to do with electrical safety.
In fact, Part 15 of the FCC regulations state that:
1. The device may not cause harmful interference.
2. The device must accept any interference received including
interference that may cause undesired operations.
The FCC rules are specifically designed to provide reasonable protection
against RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) in residential installations.
