Indeed. I told that to the "authorities" too, as they kept repeating 
what kind of dummy I am, and at a given moment someone  told (_by 
accident_) there is a problem with the Adaptec cards. Then I knew 
enough  of course.
So, it's sad but true, they rather let us messing around than telling 
the truth.

So, whether they like it or not, I repeat it loud and clear: the eCS1.1 
installer has a problem with (Adaptec)scsi.

done, you could reinstate sio2k manually without much of a problem.
