TR> DB> I keep hearing this word responsibility... it makes me want to

TR> Responsibility came up in a message from Charles Hunter on this

TR> responsibility to family
I wasn't directing the responsibility issue specifically at you, Tom.
Its just that every time I hear that word, its usually coming from
someone attempting to force their values upon someone else.
Responsibility, to me, is a two way street. The (our) system demands
so much from the individual yet assumes so little responsibility of
its own.
I'm looking as scenarios such as landowners being forced to put trees
on their property by city politics... trees they don't want... then
when the tree grows and the roots crack sidewalks, or fall down and
bust up cars or people... the city demands the owner who didn't want
the tree in the first place pay the damages. Things of this respect.
TR> You are right, you owe me nothing, and I owe you nothing. I'm
TR> curious, do you suggest that purely white people, if such a thing
TR> exists, individually owe a debt to the American Indians?
And maybe the Mexicans, too! Actually, once I realized what Great
Britian has done in South Africa, Spain and Portegal in the Far East,
and how our ancestors aquired their dominance... I don't think much of
anybody. Guess in ancient times it was the Egyptians and Greeks.
Pretty unstable foundation, karma wise, to base a civilization on.
We won, they lost... dunno. I do know there's laws on the books, even
in those times, every modern society existing today had broken in the
process of expansion. Sure wasn't what I was taught in History class.
