when that happens have him type

ping HisOldMachineNameHere

and see if it pings 207.105.135.9 or some other IP address, my guess is it
pings a different address. If so then try using that IP instead of the .9
IP

On the "HisOldMachineNameHere" computer, enable the guest account
or create an account that exactly matches the username and password that he
is using on the NEW machine.
