I recently bought a VW pickup. This is based on the rabbit chassis and engine
combination. Is anyone familiar with these? Several years ago, there was a
book about repairs on these, called "Poor Richard's Guide for the Complete
Idiot" (or something like this). It was a spoof on repair and maintenance,
ut
it was very good none-the-less. It was a softbound book, larger than the
Chilton or Haynes series of manuals, perhaps even as large as 8 1/2 by 11. I
would dearly like to find this book, and buy a new or used copy of it. Any
help in finding it would be appreciated.
I also would like some advice about the shifter. Mine seems to have a lot of
play, and so I wondered about bushings to make it a tad closer? It shifts
ine
except for reverse, where it wants to pop out of gear unless you hold it in
place. I really don't plan to keep it, I will either sell it to my sister, or
if she does not want it, will offer it for sale here in the Chattanooga area.
This truck is red, has white/silver stripes on the sides which say "Sport
Truck". Factory air, 4 speed transmission, Michelin radial tires, a solid
southern truck with no body rust. Will sell for $1500, and it can be driven
anywhere. I just made a trip to Mississippi, putting about 1000 miles on it
n
4 days.
