Nope, thats the classic ploy that pyramid marketing schemes take
when pyramid marketing schemes were made illegal, claim they are
MLM instead. Its a scam.

The only people who do well out of them are those who get in early

And even without the pyramid scheme, what guarantee have I got that
what money I send to Rod Holt or Last Netcon will actually get to
Telecom ? I wouldnt be too thrilled to find my phone cutoff one day
and see a report on the Investigators that they are spending my cash
in the Bahamas. If I deal direct with Telecom I have various viable
recourse if they stuff up the billing. With Last Netcon I dont.

Its got nothing to do with fear. I think that people who dont know any
better should be made aware that pyramid marketing schemes are illegal.
If they want to THEN believe the story that the con men tell, thats
fine, they will have no one to blame but themselves if they get shafted.

Indeed, but it is handy to tell people about the law if they are not
aware of the law. And its even a good idea to point out the problems
with pyramid marketing schemes too, because its better to consider the
detail FIRST, rather than get shafted and THEN wonder how it happened.
If they want to send money to someone offering shares in the harbour
bridge, thats entirely their affair, but I will point out that the
government isnt selling them, that its a scam.

Unfortunately the law is so complex that thats not necessarily true.
Many people wouldnt even know what a pyramid marketing scheme was
if it bit them on the bum, let alone know that they are illegal.

Have already, they say pyramid marketing schemes are illegal. They
also say that its not enough to just call it MLM or have some wanky
scheme which purports to stop it being a pyramid marketing scheme
when it does not. They have said for example that its not enough that
a tiny part of your income does not come from the pyramid structure.
Thats enough for me, tho I will keep an eye out on the Investigators
etc, expect to see it show up there.
