Same applies to scsi. A friend here saw his IBM DNES 18 Giga going nuts 
after merely 2 years. And I know about a few others too.

That said it must be admitted the Maxtor scsi (formerly Quantum) are of 
better quality, but also, the same applies to their IDE disks.
