As you can see Dylans given you a good explanation.. all I can add is I'm not 
sure what antivirus programs detect and kill this... but if your really
worried about it eg. you run a BBS look for a file called VPRA.ZIP which is a 
small tsr com file written specifically to detect this virus.. it's available 
from ftp.pcmicro.com if you have NET access..
