Good man.  There are pros and cons about Ritalin, and if you can get
into the Internet, you can look them up for yourself.  Find a search
engine and type in:  "Attention Deficit Disorder" [Diet-supplments]  and
see what comes up.  The best search engine for medical subjects is the
Alta Vista at http://altavista.digital.com and Metacrawler at
http://www.metacrawler.com is also good.  The first has other links you
can shift to.
There is also a FIDO conference called ADHD which will cover many topics
connected with that problem and where resources can be found.  It should
be similar to the list server I have for another problem where many
different forms of therapy are discussed.
I found that the parents on the net are trying alternatives to Ritalin,
other drugs, and also are trying diets along with food supplements.  I
encourage you to go find out for your self what they are doing and just
how this works, not take someone else's word for it.
And then share what you find with your doctor.
