Not ignoring it. They are using the dash in a weird way. They are using it
as a modifier of the following character as if the following character had
an umlaut or
some diacritic. They are doing so both the GUI and the -on at the command line.
Interesting choice. I wonder what their thinking is on it. Actually, I can see their
thinking. It reminds me a little of Google's handling of dash (which is sort of a
cross between a space and a double quoting of the pair of words dashed). It
is another form of recognition that dash is connecting two parts that
really matter.
