I had him set an IP address on the new machine and pinged from his old machine to his
new machine. So I know things are good at that level.

I'm guessing that the NetBEUI on the NT box isn't working with the WXP box. But how
to tell whether it is using NetBIOS over TCP/IP? Where to look on both boxes?
