 Fori the VERY common used Daily wrods in groups like this abreviations
commonly pop up and soon become standard. While Hams was mentioned it is
an old Telegraphers and Teletype Operators tradition. Aftewr al lif you
are pound the cBrass al lday or at the TT terminal all day it jsut makes
youre job easier.
The hams have a whole set of toe and three letter shortcuts for use with
CW. And some of it spills over into the Voice nets. Although soem
"Purists" frown on it on voice nets concidering it the
"Private Domain"
of the brass pounders. .
