   It can work if you have a suitable sleep in between....  EG  For reading
keyboard I have at one time used KbdCharIn() in a loop while checking some
variables and doing a DosSleep(500).  500ms gave good enough user response,
and took practically no CPU time....

   PS  If you know of a way of setting a timeout for a KbdCharIn() so that
it will return when a character is pressed or when a time period has
elapsed then please let me know.
