subject: Interim report: modem connection speed & DSL

RG> The issue with DSL is that if the DSL modem is

RG> Turn the DSL modem off before you remove the
RG> filter and attempt a dialup connection.

in my situation, there's never been DSL in this location... no filters or
"modems"... there is supposedly DSL available in my area but i
don't believe it based on the distances involved... my problem is that i
cannot get v90 connects but i can get v34 connects but limited to 28k8 or
less...

should i be looking for a filter and stomping it to hell?
