AJ> I discovered something this weekend that I had not heretofore known. A
AJ> Quicken for Windows 2.0 file will open up very nicely in Quicken 8 for
AJ> DOS. One of those Quicken set-ups (not unlike the church's) that I've
AJ> developed for a local educational non-profit org was handed to me
AJ> yesterday so I could refine the reports a tad. I discovered when the
AJ> treasurer arrived that the thing was on Q2 for Windows. I was VERY
AJ> glad to be able to use the files on the latest dos version.
Quicken's always been well behaved about that.
AJ> I think the secret to the success of the program is its seemingly
AJ> infinite flexibility in reporting. At least, that's one of several
AJ> good reasons why I stick with it.
Now if they'd just get OLE/DDE working, so's I can link it to my Excel
spreadsheet...
AJ> Oh, excuse me... Here's your certificate. Consider it a small token of
AJ> the universal gratitude which is yours for being generous, but not to
AJ> a fault, with your time in service to your own better judgement!
AJ> %%% This is to certify that %%%
AJ> %%% RICHARD APPLING %%%
AJ> %%% has been granted the special title %%%
AJ> %%% -- S A I N T -- %%%
AJ> %%% This 3rd day of September 1995 %%%
ROFL! But it was *against* my better judgement. Just appealed to my
vanity. (And especially my GREED!) I'm gonna find a camel and ride it
full bore through a needle's eye!
Rich A.
... They promise us Windows 95 and what do we get? *Bob*!
