It DOES vary by variety. Peace, which has a better name than the
rose itself deserves, is notoriously susceptible to Black Spot.
I suggest you find a local Rosarian, or a professional rose garden,
and ask about varieties that do well in your local area. The wild
roses in my hedgerows never seem to have a problem with mildew or
black spot, no matter how damp it is.

Normally, especially here in Portland OR, Roses want full sun, but I
see your BBS is in Florida so that might be a little much there.
Perhaps along an east-facing wall, so they get morning sun to dry off
the dew as fast as possible and avoiding the hot afternoon sun.
