No. It uses an ISA-based soundcard, ESS1688, as far as I know. There are
native OS/2 drivers for it.

Again, there's an IBM driver for this chip, Trident 9320. Visit the
"ThinkPad compatibility matrix" at http://www.pc.ibm.com, then
"Support"
and outfit yourself with a multi-megabyte driver collection. ;-)
